Irvine, CA: elevator card reader at a parking-level lobby

In Irvine, a proximity card reader was installed directly in the stainless hall-call plate at a parking-level elevator lobby, so calling the elevator from the garage requires a valid credential. The reader sits inside the existing fire-service signage plate, with no extra surface boxes, and is wired back to the building’s access control system.

Scope: elevator access control at a garage level, card reader integration.
Why it matters: stops unauthorized people in the parking structure from reaching upper floors by elevator.

Anaheim, CA: commercial turret camera installation

At a commercial building in Anaheim, turret (eyeball) cameras were mounted along exposed structural beams, with the cable dressed along the beam rather than left hanging. Turret cameras suit this kind of ceiling because they are easy to aim, avoid the dome-bubble glare that hurts night images, and stay serviceable from a ladder.

Scope: camera mounting, cabling, aiming and recorder setup.
Why it matters: clean cable runs and correct camera placement are what keep a system reliable and easy to service later.

RTI whole-home control programming

An in-wall RTI touch panel was programmed so each room has its own control page. The Family Room page shown here puts four DIRECTV receivers, two Apple TVs, two Sonos zones and the security cameras on one screen, with power and volume always on the right-hand rail. Other pages cover the bedrooms, bathroom, dining room, patio, garage, game room and fireplace.

Scope: RTI programming, touch panel layout, AV and camera integration.
Why it matters: one consistent layout in every room means the family can use the system without calling for help.
